It's safe to say that 2014 was a breakout year for Chris Pratt, who has since become a worldwide sensation after the untamable success of Jurassic World. The movie that really proved his star power and leading man potential, however, was without a doubt Guardians of the Galaxy.
That wonderfully unconventional and visually stunning movie was pretty much the reason to go to the theater last summer, and it reminded us just how much fun a superhero movie could be. Throughout every colorful frame and witty remark, you could see the undeniable work of director James Gunn, whose brilliant mind brought the galactic story to life.
The winning combination of Gunn and Pratt (along with all of the rest of the cast, of course) really helped the movie stand out, and now those two guys are celebrating the film that really launched them into the Hollywood stratosphere.
James Gunn took to social media to commemorate the one-year anniversary of Guardians of the Galaxy
He included just some of the awesome fan art that the movie inspired and wrote a heartfelt message to all the fans that made Marvel's underdogs such a smashing success.
James Gunn could not be more humble and appreciative of his fans
This guy continues to be one of the most upstanding guys in Hollywood. If more directors were like James Gunn, I can guarantee that more movies would be successful and more audiences would happy. It's all about the commitment and the conversation, and Gunn never falters at either.
Then, Chris Pratt hopped on the appreciation train
It's just refreshing to see one of the biggest stars in the world right now honoring what got him there. So many celebrities would let something like a one-year anniversary come and go without any acknowledgment, but it's these little moments that really set the Guardians cast and crew apart.
Most importantly, Star Lord can't wait for another go at this franchise, and Guardians of the Galaxy 2 is set to premiere on May 5, 2017. Sure, it's a long way away, but there's no doubt these guys will make something worth waiting for.
