In the DC world, if someone is in need of help, Superman is usually the guy for the job, right? But what if someone needs Superman's help because he or she is being bullied by a police officer? What should Superman do? Should he still fight for truth, justice, and the American way even if a cop stands in the way of his beliefs? Creators Aaron Kuder and Greg Pak just may surprise you with their interpretation.
*NOTE: In this comic, Superman only has his super strength after losing the ability to use the Fortress of Solitude. Due to this development, police officers seem to have a beef with Superman now because they have to "clean things up" after his fights. Plus, Lois Lane revealed to the world that Clark Kent and Superman are one and the same.*
Take a look below and see how the police attempt to raid a block party in Superman's honor:
Fox411 News conducted an interview with Patrick Colligan, the president of the New Jersey State PolicemenâÂÂs Benevolent Association asking him what he thought of the new Superman comic. Colligan described the comic as "disgraceful":
âÂÂThey want to sell comics,â Colligan said. âÂÂUnfortunately itâÂÂs at the expense of some very great cops out there every day protecting the public. We are once again painted with the very broad stroke nobody wants to be painted with."
Colligan later revealed that Superman needs to go back to his job and stop trying to bring world issues into the comic book world by saying:
âÂÂComic books are taking on social issues lately and maybe they should get back to taking on superheroes and making people laugh,â he said.
