This project takes a great deal of inspiration from b-movies (particularly horror) of the past. I just love the whole vibe of 70s cinema, especially the trailers and opening sequences. The stern voiced voice over packing no punches, selling the film and doing a great job in my opinion. Watch the 'Zombie Holocaust' trailer for a perfect example of this style of trailer (NSFW). Usually with this type of film there was hardly any opening sequence, the name of the film would appear on screen right at the start. There's something quite raw and refreshing looking back and comparing it to modern day cinema as there seems to be a culture of dazzling the beholder with lots of SFX. I'm looking forward to the backlash and things getting back to basics, with good screenplays and great acting.

I chose six films over the past decade that I enjoyed for various reasons, whether it be for nostalgia, the acting & storytelling, or just to laugh...a lot. I'm sure some people may think there are a couple of duds in there but life would be boring if everyone had the same opinions right!? I avoided picking any horror films for maximum subversion on the project, not just because I don't think there are any memorable horrors in the past ten years!

I hope you enjoyed the project. I may create another series eventually...
