While audiences aren't quite sure whether Xavier's School will still be in session after [X-Men: Apocalypse](tag:1194267), it seems as though we'll absolutely see the continuing stories of Charles Xavier and Erik Lehnsherr (or whatever he's calling himself by then), known more widely as Professor X and Magneto.
Heroic Hollywood reports that Michael Fassbender and James McAvoy have signed on for multiple films after the release of X-Men: Apocalypse, which makes for an interesting and welcome continuation of their relationship and respective stories. The chatter around an X-Men and Fantastic Four crossover has already been flying around the rumor mill, but HH's Umberto Gonzalez poses a further question to get the gears of speculative fan minds turning:
The possibilities are exciting. Can we see Magneto and Professor Xavier team up with Deadpool down the line? Maybe an X-Force movie?
Gonzales also says that talk has been flying around Nicholas Hoult and Jennifer Lawrence continuing their roles as Beast and Mystique, but Lawrence's involvement is shaky. Not long ago, the actress sent some rather mixed messages in interviews, but seemed to keep the door open to further involvement as the shape-shifting antagonist.
As FOX continues to build it's roster of superhero films, keeping on it's major actors can be vital to continuing storylines in their cinematic universe -- keeping major players on is certainly the smart way to go.
