Jenna Dewan-Tatum Cast In Supergirl!
Jenna Dewan-Tatum has been cast in Supergirl as Lucy Lane, sister of Lois.
This version of Lucy is being described, by EW, as “[equally] brash, funny and beautiful as her older sister Lois Lane. Lucy is strong, smart and successful in her own right. She’s got a history with Jimmy Olsen (Mehcad Brooks) and she’s come to town to right a previous wrong.”
Lucy Lane first appeared in 1959 in Superman's Pal, Jimmy Olsen #36.
Aside from being the sister of the famous Daily Planet reporter, Lois Lane, having an on-and-off relationship with Jimmy Olsen, having a job as a flight attendant, joining the military and being temporarily blinded before having her eyesight restored by the chalky white substance that coated Bizarro's body, Lucy is probably best known as Superwoman, gaining the title after one of her father's associates gave her a suit that simulated Kryptonian abilities.
This marks the fourth time we have seen Lucy grace our screens; her first live action appearance in the 1984 Supergirl movie and was played by Maureen Teefy, an appearance in Lois & Clark: The New Adventures of Superman and most recently in Smallville, played by Peyton List, who now stars on The Flash as Lisa Snart/Golden Glider.
Dewan-Tatum has starred in Step Up, The Grudge 2, 10 Years, American Horror Story and most recently on Witches of East End.
Jenna Dewan-Tatum will make her first appearance in season 1, episode 3 of Supergirl but no word yet if, or when, she will gain her alter-ego of Superwoman.
Supergirl season 1 debuts on Monday October 26 on CBS.
