Michael Fassbender and James McAvoy were both great as Magneto and Professor X respectively, and it appears the two actors are interested in continuing their roles once their contracts come to an end after [X-Men: Apocalypse](tag:1194267), which, by the way, looks awesome.
Well, it appears that along with the news of Channing Tatum's Gambit deal with the series, both Fassbender and McAvoy have signed on to reprise their roles in the future X-Men movies. So, spoiler alert, I guess this means they're pretty much guaranteed to survive in Apocalypse.
So, as much hate as Fox gets for some of their superhero movies, I think that at the very least the general consensus is that they got this right. Both characters are of tremendous worth to the franchise and locking them in during this transition away from the semi-inexplicable obsession with Wolverine is going to pay dividends in the long run.
Next, the studio is looking to lock down Nicholas Hoult as Beast and Jennifer Lawrence as Mystique, but it seems J-Law might be pretty difficult to keep on-board. Clearly, she's at the top of the A-List as far as female lead actresses are concerned and she's expensive.
Do you think X-Men is in good hands with Fassbender and McAvoy staying on-board? And how important are Hoult and Lawrence? Questions...
