The CW network just announced that Casper Crump (Tarzan, Helium) will portray the villain Vandal Savage in the "Arrowverse" tv-series Arrow, The Flash and upcoming show DC's Legends of Tomorrow.
Vandal Savage is described in the shows as "immortal, having spent the past 6,000 years moving like a virulent disease through history, whispering in the ears of despots and dictators, all leading to his eventual domination of the world."
Crump is a relatively unknown actor from Denmark. He has mainly done Danish movies and tv-series, however he did play a role in the critically aclaimed and award winning short movie Helium. He will also play the role of Captain Kerchover in the upcoming Tarzan movie.
Vandal Savage will be introduced in the Arrow and Flash crossover episodes, episode 8 of the upcoming seasons of both shows in early December, and then will move to DC's Legends of Tomorrow to take the role as main villain of the show.
Rumor has it that even after he, most likely, is defeated in DC's Legends of Tomorrow he still might recur in The CW DC tv-series in a way like Malcolm Merlyn or Eobard Thawne/Harrison Wells.
DC's Legends of Tomorrow official synopsis:
"When heroes alone are not enough...the world needs legends. Having seen the future, one he will desperately try to prevent from happening, time-traveling rogue Rip Hunter is tasked with assembling a disparate group of both heroes and villains to confront an unstoppable threat — one in which not only is the planet at stake, but all of time itself. Can this ragtag team defeat an immortal threat unlike anything they have ever known?"
