The Ladies of Ghostbusters Visit Patients and Families At A Children’s Hospital!
The majority of people know how much going to the hospital sucks but spare a thought for the kids stuck in the hospital for short to long periods for a range of things.
On Saturday August 1st, the ladies of Paul Feig’s new Ghostbusters movie, Leslie Jones, Melissa McCarthy, Kate McKinnon and Kristen Wiig, decided to take time out of filming the new movie to surprise patients and their families at Floating Hospital for Children at Tufts Medical Center in Boston.
The Tufts Medical Center Facebook page posted pictures of the ladies making their way around the hospital in their costumes, complete with proton packs and blasters.
“Thank you for taking the time out of filming today to put a big smile on our patients faces!”
says the Facebook page.
“On Tuesday the little guy had to go back for emergency surgery #2 and was told that he had to stay hooked up to antibiotics until Saturday. As his mom, I camped out by his side. In short, my family was having a really rough week. The visit from these ladies was an uplifting treat. It also wasn’t just a promo photo op. They asked about him and chatted with us. No matter how you feel about the movie remake, you should do well to remember that this visit meant a lot to the people receiving it.”
writes the mother of the baby Wiig is holding in the above picture.
The ladies even posed for a photo right outside the room of this little girl couldn’t have visitors so they could get her in the shot.
Something like this might seem insignificant or you may even think of it as a publicity stunt but the thing to remember is that something like this can brighten the day of these families and that is all that really matters!
Ghostbusters hits cinemas July 22, 2016.
