Each year, Forbes publishes its list of the wealthiest thespians in the business, and often we are hardly surprised at those who make the cut. Yet, this year there is something slightly different about the ranking because for the very first time, the list includes actors who also work outside Hollywood!

As you'll soon discover, while 6 of the top 10 actors hail from the US, 4 collect their paychecks elsewhere.

Take a peek at the list of actors who are living the high life, you might be surprised by what you find.

1. Robert Downey, Jr. - $80M

Yep, RDJ has been named top dog for the third year in a row, cashing in his highest ever annual pay day in 2015.

Last year The Avengers: Age of Ultron star took home a whopping $80 million from a gross of $1.4 billion at the box office.

Why anyone would ever need to earn so much money puzzles me beyond belief, but there you go, the Iron Man has gone and done it!

2. Jackie Chan - $50M

This entry I found slightly surprising, not because Jackie Chan isn't a phenomenally talented actor who deserves a hefty paycheck, but because his presence in Hollywood has been lacking of late.

But it is thanks to Dragon Blade that Chan took home a dizzying $50 million this year. The movie is expected to hit our screens in September so not long now before we see what made the action hero all that dollar back on Chinese soil.

Here's the trailer in the meantime:

3. Vin Diesel - $47M

Vinny D has furiously sped his way to third place thanks to his role in the Fast and Furious franchise, which grossed $1.5 billion at box offices worldwide.

He's also got approximately 93 million fans on Facebook, so he's definitely a force to be reckoned with.

4. Bradley Cooper - $41.5M

Bradley has done pretty well for himself this year, starring in Oscar-worthy movies such as military epic American Sniper. Rom-com Aloha wasn't bad either!

5. Adam Sandler - $41M

Adam's involvement with huge budget movies such as Pixels is certainly bringing in the dough. And his sweet Netflix deal (he's signed on to make four films for the exclusive on-demand service!) is also paying off.

I bet entertaining couch potatoes has never felt so good.

6. Tom Cruise - $40M

His paycheck for this year's Mission Impossible: Rogue Nation and 2014's Edge of Tomorrow plants Tom firmly in the top ten list.

7. Amitabh Bachchan - $33.5M

Despite being less well known amongst the Hollywood crowd, Amitabh Bachchan has actually starred in more than 150 movies in his 50 year career. In India, he continues to rake in the rupees for blockbusters such as Bhoothnath Returns.

It doesn't hurt that he's also the longstanding host of India's version of Who Wants to Be a Millionaire?

8. Salman Khan - $33.5M

As one of India's biggest stars, Salman has a long-standing career behind him already. As well as endorsing brands, he also earns a lot appearing in Indian blockbusters, alongside being the host of a reality TV show. Not bad.

9. Akshay Kumar - $32.5M

Considering Akshay appears in around 4 movies per year, it's no surprise his hard work pays off, earning him a top salary in the movie industry.

10. Mark Wahlberg - $32M

Ted 2 grossed a very reasonable $168 million this year, and when you add the successes of The Gambler, Transformers: Age of Extinction and Entourage into the mix, you get a very wealthy man indeed.
