Jennifer Aniston and Justin Theroux have made their four year relationship official by tying the knot in a top secret ceremony at their Bel Air home on Wednesday.
The couple exchanged their vows in front of 70 family members and friends, and the ceremony was just as much a surprise for the guests as it was for the general public! People magazine reported that:
Guests were told it was a birthday party for Justin. Jen and Justin wanted to surprise guests and guests were certainly surprised
For the celebration, a large wooden deck was set up in the couple's backyard with seating for 74 guests scattered around the elegant table arrangements.
The glitzy guest list included Courteney Cox and Lisa Kudrow, Chelsea Handler, Howard Stern and Beth Ostrosky Stern, Jason Bateman, Emily Blunt and John Krasinski, Ellen DeGeneres and Portia de Rossi, Will Arnett, Tobey Maguire and Jennifer Meyer, Lake Bell and Scott Campbell, Terry Richardson, Jimmy Kimmel, Billy Crudup, Sia, Kathryn Hahn and Whitney Cummings.
Aniston, 46, and Theroux, 43, got engaged in August 2012 after dating each other for just over a year. The pair first met in 2008 on the set of Tropic Thunder, although it took years for romance to blossom, Jen explained that:
"We were friends for seven years. I replay when I met him then, but he wasn't a boyfriend. It's funny to replay it because we weren't even anywhere in each other's realms of possibility."
The couple have not yet made a public statement about their marriage, but images from TMZ capturing the arrival of a pastor and a puppet topped wedding cake suggest this isn't a false alarm.
