I have a theory that BvS will show us a retired Batman that will probably come back to action because of Superman. Maybe it’s just me but some of the scenes from the trailer hint about Batman been out of action for a while.

Here are some facts to support my theory.

To start the movie will be based as we know, in part on the Graphic Novel, The Dark Knight Returns, where Batman has been retired for at least ten years.

He even let his moustache grow

20 years in Gotham
20 years in Gotham

So he is around 50 years old, sounds familiar?

Wayne Manor destroyed
Wayne Manor destroyed

I know this reminded us to the Batman Begins movie where Wayne Manor is destroyed in a fire, but wherever happened here, happened a long time ago. So, is Bruce now living in the city retired, maybe Metropolis as we see on beginning of the trailer?

Bruce training
Bruce training

In the comics it’s not odd to see Batman training, but is Bruce now out of shape? Or maybe he is just preparing himself to face Superman?

"No more"
"No more"

Is he recalling that promise “No more”.

How long since they turn it on?
How long since they turn it on?

We see Batman taking a cloak of the Bat signal, I don’t think they put it just to shelter it from the weather but because it’s been out of use for a while.

Bruce parents murder
Bruce parents murder

Now the scene where Joe Chill murder Bruce parents, in the comic after this flashback he realizes that he can’t stop been Batman and that he must return, could something similar be happening in the movie?

Well, what do you think?

Has Batman been retired for a while?

Do the actions of Superman make Batman come back?

Well let me know what do you think, but we all know that he just can’t stop been Batman.
