(Warning - potential SPOILERS for Captain America: Civil War, and the extended Marvel Cinematic Universe, are to be found below. Tread softly, and all that...)

With Captain America: Civil War now less than a year away from hitting the big screen, the inevitable stream of plot rumors is rapidly becoming something closer to a flood. In recent weeks, one of the most intriguing has been the speculation that Spider-Man - set to make his Marvel Cinematic Universe debut in the movie - will not, in fact, be wearing his iconic red and blue webbed costume.

In the face of that uncertainty, the question of what might take its place it has burdened many a server - but perhaps won't have to for too much longer. Y'see:

We Might Finally Know What Spider-Man's Civil War Costume Will Be

According to, at least, the costume we're set to see in Civil War will be...pretty much the same as the one we know and love from the comic books - but with an Avengers twist. As the site's Ross Burlingame puts it:

"the Civil War movie will bring an Avengers-friendly version of the traditional Spider-suit, complete with detailing reminiscent of costumes like Captain America's Avengers movie suits."

Or, on other words, this...

...with a solid dash of the real-world style details (and presumably seams) of this...

...which...actually sounds pretty darned awesome.

The best part, though? Nothing that's yet emerged from the set has yet eliminated the possibility that we'll get to see Spidey done multiple costumes throughout Civil War (or at least in his own solo movie in 2017).

Which, in turn, means that our chances of seeing both an entertainingly simplistic home-made costume...

...and a variation on the ultra-high tech (and Tony Stark-designed) Iron-Spider suit...

...are very much alive.

Here's hoping, at any rate...

What do you reckon, though?
