Actors are considered talented for a variety of reasons. Some have an incredible range of roles that they can play, slipping out of one character's skin and into another's so seamlessly we barely recognize them from film to film. Others are great for their perfection of a specific type of role. However, there is without a doubt something remarkable about an actor who succeeds in pulling off an accent (or multiple accents) so credibly that you're surprised when you hear their actual speaking voice.

While some actors are known for their prowess in the accent department, others have come up a bit - erm - lacking. Pulling off a convincing accent can be incredibly tricky and performance receptions inevitably vary from being unanimously praised to leaving fans and critics divided, to being completely panned. Below is a selection of 16 actors, some of whom might have managed to fool you with their flawless accents, while others could maybe have put a bit more effort into their words.

But don't let me tell you what's what. You guys decide, did they pull it off, or could they have stood to have had a few more coaching lessons?
