Constantine fans, rejoice! Today at the Television Critics Association's summer press tour in Beverly Hills, executive producer Marc Guggenheim confirmed that the hero of the short-lived series would be returning from purgatory to hunt demons in Starling City.
After the Constantine's tragic cancellation in May, it was reportedly shopped around to other networks, before it was decided that the dark Vertigo vigilante would fit in nicely amongst the dark alleyways of Arrow's home city.
Season 4 of the hit CW show will already feature a crossover with The Flash that is set to spin-off into another series, [DC's Legends of Tomorrow](tag:2937021). The crossover featuring Matt Ryan's Constantine was described as a "great, one-shot episode" by CW President Mark Pedowitz, indicating that Constantine's involvement isn't "series regular" status.
As for Matt Ryan himself -- well, he certainly seems ready for action again:
According to IGN's Eric Goldman, a new villain might have some kind of involvement in Constantine's appearance:
At Comic-Con last week, when I spoke to Arrow's executive producer Wendy Mericle and stars Stephen Amell and Emily Bett Rickards about the possibility of Constantine appearing on the series, they indicated that the introduction of the villain Damien Darhk (Neal McDonough) and the inclusion of more mysticism on Arrow this season could pave the way for Constantine to appear.
So far, all details about the episode are being kept under wraps, including the episode's air date, but fans can check out the premiere of Arrow season 4 on October 7th.
