Whether you're heading back to school or you can just feel that the summer months are coming to a very unwelcome close, it's getting to be about the time where we all need a little bit of motivation.

Although I've found that a mirror pep talk to myself can do the trick, sometimes you need something a bit more powerful. So, turning to some of history's greatest actors for help, here are 20 inspiring and motivational movie speeches (in no particular order) to help get you through the end of summer:

1. The Great Dictator (1940)

To those who can hear me, I say - do not despair. The misery that is now upon us is but the passing of greed - the bitterness of men who fear the way of human progress...And so long as men die, liberty will never perish. .

2. Remember the Titans (2000)

You listen. And you take a lesson from the dead. If we don't come together, right now, on this hallowed ground, we too will be destroyed -- just like they were. I don't care if you like each other or not. But you will respect each other. And maybe -- I don't know -- maybe we'll learn to play this game like men.

3. Miracle on Ice (1981)

This is your time. Their time is done. It's over. I'm sick and tired of hearing about what a great hockey team the Soviets have. Screw 'em. This is your time. Now go out there and take it.

4. Star Wars V: The Empire Strikes Back (1980)

For my ally is the Force, and a powerful ally it is. Life creates it, makes it grow. Its energy surrounds us and binds us. Luminous beings are we, not this crude matter. You must feel the Force around you; here, between you, me, the tree, the rock, everywhere, yes.

5. The Goonies (1985)

But right now they gotta do what's right for them, 'cause it's their time. Their time, up there. Down here it's our time. It's our time down here.

6. Henry V (1989)

From this day to the ending of the world,
But we in it shall be remembered-
We few, we happy few, we band of brothers;
For he to-day that sheds his blood with me
Shall be my brother; be he ne’er so vile,
This day shall gentle his condition;
And gentlemen in England now-a-bed
Shall think themselves accurs’d they were not here,
And hold their manhoods cheap whiles any speaks
That fought with us upon Saint Crispin’s day.

7. Independence Day (1996)

We can’t be consumed by our petty differences anymore. We will be united in our common interests. Perhaps it’s fate that today is the 4th of July and you will once again be fighting for our freedom.

8. 300 (2007)

The enemy outnumber us a paltry three to one, good odds for any Greek. This day we rescue a world from mysticism and tyranny and usher in a future brighter than anything we can imagine. Give thanks, men, to Leonidas and the brave 300! TO VICTORY!

9. Network (1976)

I'm as mad as hell and I'm not going to take this anymore!

10. Invictus (2009)

Do you hear? Listen to your country!...This is it! This is our destiny! Kom bokke!

11. Braveheart (1995)

And dying in your beds, many years from now, would you be willin' to trade ALL the days, from this day to that, for one chance, just one chance, to come back here and tell our enemies that they may take our lives, but they'll never take... OUR FREEDOM!

12. Rocky Balboa (2006)

You, me, or nobody is gonna hit as hard as life. But it ain't about how hard ya hit. It's about how hard you can get hit and keep moving forward. How much you can take and keep moving forward. That's how winning is done!

13. The Blind Side (2009)

But honor, that's the real reason for you either do something or you don't. It's who you are and maybe who you want to be.

14. Gladiator (2000)

I will have my vengeance, in this life or the next.

15. Friday Night Lights (2004)

Perfection is being able to look your friends in the eye and know you did everything you could not to let them down.

16. Animal House (1978)

What? Over? Did you say 'over'? Nothing is over until we decide it is! Was it over when the Germans bombed Pearl Harbor? Hell no!

17. Good Will Hunting (1997)

You don't owe it to yourself. You owe it to me...I mean, you're sittin' on a winning lottery ticket and you're too much of a pussy to cash it in. And that's bullshit. `Cause I'd do anything to fuckin' have what you got. So would any of these fuckin' guys. It'd be an insult to us if you're still here in 20 years. Hanging around here is a fuckin' waste of your time.

18. Hoosiers (1986)

If you put your effort and concentration into playing to your potential, to be the best that you can be, I don’t care what the scoreboard says at the end of the game, in my book we’re gonna be winners.

19. Secondhand Lions (2003)

Sometimes the things that may or may not be true are the things a man needs to believe in the most.

20. We Are Marshall (2006)

We may be behind on the scoreboard at the end of the game but if you play like that we cannot be defeated.

As always, this list is far from exhaustive and just a few of the many inspirational cinematic speeches that make us love movies so much. With this many quotes in mind, nothing is impossible. Now go forth and do great things! We believe in you.
