POTENTIAL SPOILER ALERT: Hey people. It’s been a while since I wrote an article, but then again it’s been awhile since I had an interesting theory I wanted to talk about. This is based on the rumor for Captain America: Civil War. As we all know by now (either from comic reading or that Ant-Man post credits scene) there is a divide amongst the avengers due to new legislation that will lead to Civil War. In the comics this legislation is over the New Warriors blowing up a school. Obviously this wouldn't work for the films, and many assumed it would just be the events of Age of Ultron that call for the superhero registration act. I could have believed that, but this new rumor suggest it’s specifically a new event we'll see in the beginning of Captain America. The rumor says that -

the international incident in the film involving the Avengers that results in collateral damage involves Captain America and Scarlet Witch who are trying to apprehend Crossbones. The only problem is that Crossbones is wearing a suicide vest full of nasty explosives. In order to protect the civilians on the ground, Captain America orders Scarlet Witch to levitate Crossbones above ground. She does and unfortunately is unable to contain the massive explosion that sets off near a populated building causing death and destruction.

The intense battle in question.

Now If this is true we have our stand in for the New Warrior’s event. This would coincide with the Atlanta filming in Civil War with Cap fighting Crossbones we’ve seen so much of. I think this would not only be a good beat for Civil War, but could lead into Marvel’s other 2016 film Doctor Strange. Doctor Strange is the Sorcerer Supreme and top authority on all things magic in the Marvel Universe. If Scarlet Witch is having trouble with her powers having her contact Doctor Strange would be a great post credits scene connecting the two summer blockbusters.

Oh that darn Kevin Feige and his synergy

It wouldn’t have to stop there. She could carry over into Doctor Strange, and be introduced to his backstory along with the audience since Marvel has said they want to stop doing origin films moving forward this would be a smart way to explain things quickly opposed to taking 2 hours to see the everyman learn to be a hero. We know Stephen Strange is a person of interest to HYDRA, so it’s very possible he’s currently active in the MCU. Also remember Doctor Strange isn’t exactly secretive about who he is. In the comics he never makes any effort to conceal his exploits rather the general public think he’s a hoax. He’s often visited by people seeking help with magical expertise.

Now in the MCU it’s worth mentioning that Scarlet Witch hasn’t been referred to as magic yet. Her origin here has a cosmic background as a result of experimentation with the mind stone, but as Thor has explained “Magic and science are one in the same” in the MCU. Magic could just be tapping into an eternal cosmic source. Also a cool idea to go with this is that Scott Derrickson is said to be going for "Horror movie lite" with Doctor Strange (which okay I guess?) and Scarlet Witch showed off a little of that style with her introduction in the Age of Ultron opening messing with Cap.

Can't get a gif of that until the Blu Ray, so here.

So what do you guys think of this rumor? Keep in mind it’s Heroic Hollywood. Umberto Gonzalez (Ace Scooper himself) has a hit/miss record of insider scoops. I have my doubts since from what we know Ant-Man won't be recruited until the Civil War starts and Paul Rudd was on set for some of this scene's shooting, sp having it be the inciting incident may not be true. But If you believe it what do you think of the theory? Let me know in the comments. And if you plan on reposting one of my theories don’t use my custom images. It’s a dead give away.
