"With all guests now gathered, except for Son Goku and Vegeta, Bulma's birthday party gets underway. Trunks shows Son Goten where his mother hid the bingo tournament grand prize the Dragon Balls. Not far off from the ship, Pilaf's Gang, now poor and hungry, are trying to get by until they find the Dragon Balls and make their wishes come true. When his Dragon Radar picks up a signal coming from Bulma's ship, Pilaf and his henchmen hastily board the ship, with Trunks and Goten's help."

So like I’ve already stated in my last couple of reviews, Dragon Ball Super is basically retelling the storyline for Battle of Gods. If you remember the part of the movie where Trunks and Goten go messing around in the bingo prize room, which leads to the inevitable encounter with Emperor Pilaf and his crew, then you pretty much know how this entire episode will go down. The only real difference here is that the dragon balls actually have a security protocol, Bulma’s birthday part is on a privately owned cruise ship and Pilaf (henchman included) almost get eating by a shark.

While I enjoy every DBZ character to their extent of use, I preferred the earlier adventures of the kids with the water and the snake. Again, no matter how many ways you paint the picture, I know how it ends and it’s not a good statement to make. It’s now become very tedious so early on with the series that I’ve yet to use the words “crappy” to describe it.

There’s really not much more to express here since it was a rather boring episode that can be just filler. The colors are still well lit with the animation, so that’s a plus. I’m just waiting for that heftier version of Beerus to finally show up. Who knows how much we have to endure to break new ground.

That is all. Thanks for reading.

If you have not yet seen my video review of Resurrection F with the ever-awesome Jake Norvell, I recommended you do so! Enjoy!
