I started watching horror back when I was a teenager, and one of the first ones I watched was Hellraiser. The franchise was pretty much the reason why I fell in love with the horror genre all together, and has always been a favorite through the years.

I was inspired to paint Pinhead after various discussions with fellow creators (there were so many different films we spoke about that I'd forgotten, and ones yet to be watched!), and he is definitely up there as one of the most frightening horror characters I've ever watched.

So, this portrait is to kick-off a very horror themed set of artworks, all featuring characters that had a profound effect on me and that are just plain poo-your-pants scary.

It was around this stage that I started to get a little... unsettled. The more my painting evolved, the more 'weird' I felt. I'm glad it was daytime, that's all I can say.

This portrait was created using watercolors, colored pencils and acrylic gesso (no puzzle box required). Thanks for looking!
