In a new edition of Entertainment Weekly, 11 scenes from Star Wars 7: The Force Awakens were revealed! Along with the pictures, an online article was released including new details on the mysterious Sith, Kylo Ren.

C-3PO and R2D2

This picture is our first look at C-3PO in the film, and the second time that we see R2D2. Although they don't look too battered, save for the dirt on R2, the most interesting thing to note here is C-3PO's red arm.

Both arms look completely identical in design, the only difference being the color. It's possible that the poor droid was disassembled (again) and a replacement arm had to be used.

Captain Phasma

Captain Phasma is the most badass looking character that has been revealed so far, and this picture reinforces that idea completely.

Her armor isn't as clean and polished as it appeared in the second trailer. Scratches and dirt can clearly be seen on her helmet and breastplate. We can also see that her chrome E-11 blaster rifle is identical to the blasters of the other stormtroopers, just like her armor.

General Hux

My first thought was that he is the new emperor, or leader, of the First Order since we see a figure clothed in black above the legions of stormtroopers in the second trailer, as well as the new TV spot from South Korea.

Kylo Ren and Stormtroopers

This shot looks similar to the shot of Kylo Ren in the second trailer where we see him extend his hand, presumably executing a force push.

According to the article by Entertainment Weekly, Kylo and his stormtroopers are walking away from a village on Jakku that they just finished raiding.

This scene also pays homage to the original Star Wars. During the search for the droids on Tatooine in A New Hope, a stormtrooper is seen with an orange shoulder pauldron like the one seen here. It's not clear whether the pauldron determines rank or is for specific use on desert planets, since we have only seen it equipped on Tatooine and Jakku.

Finn and Rey running

It looks like the stormtroopers are having some target practice. This scene also seems to be set on Jakku and probably has something to do with the scene where Rey picks Finn up while under attack in the second trailer.

It seems that John Boyega is only shown in sneak peeks where he looks out of breath!

Finn and a crashed TIE Fighter

This scene was included as concept art in the Comic-Con trailer, but a live action shot was also included with Boyega's character.

These scenes are the first time that we get to see a crashed TIE Fighter. Star Wars 7 seems to have a large emphasis on bringing starship battles into the atmosphere of planets, which has been carried into the new [Star Wars: Battlefront](tag:2684021) game. I presume that the TIE Fighter crashed after engaging in battle in the atmosphere of Jakku, possibly with the Millenium Falcon since we see it battling TIE Fighters in the second trailer.

Rey rescuing BB-8

This is why J.J. Abrams is the perfect director for the new Star Wars film. Real props and set design make the movie feel genuine and it gives the sense that the crew really cared about making Star Wars 7 a great continuation of the franchise.

At first, I thought that the thing the small creature is riding on is mechanical because of the large helmet, but upon closer inspection, the skin looks like leather. It also has hooves, so it might be Jakku's equivalent of a bantha.

The small alien might be a scavenger that stumbled upon BB-8 and was looking to sell it, like the Jawas found R2D2 and C-3PO in A New Hope. Luckily, Rey was able to find and rescue the poor little droid.

Kylo Ren

This is the most detailed shot we've seen thus far of Kylo Ren. Now that we have a clear picture of his mask, it definitely looks similar to the mask of Darth Revan, an ancient Sith lord that was featured in the video game Star Wars: Knights of the Old Republic.

It's not only the mask that goes back in ancient Sith history. If we exclude Darth Vader, no Sith lord has worn armor since the days when the Sith Empire was openly at war with the Republic. This time period is featured in the video game Star Wars: The Old Republic. Kylo Ren seems to be borrowing a lot of his equipment from ancient Sith traditions.

Another piece of information given from the Entertainment Weekly article is that Kylo Ren is not his given name. He is part of an organization called the Knights of Ren, and Kylo is another title just like Darth.

Since he is not using Darth, which is a title that has been used by the Sith for generations, the Knights of Ren could have possibly broken away from the customs of the Sith, or they might not even be Sith at all, but there are obviously more force wielders that are not Jedi than just Kylo Ren himself.

The article also confirms that he built the lightsaber he wields .

Poe Dameron

The first thing I want to say is that the new Resistance flight suit looks great! It might look a little more cumbersome but the darker orange color and the blue insignia, along with a white vest, mix very well together.

Dameron's suit looks to have a lot of small gadgets hidden everywhere. There are small capsules strapped to his lower left leg and an oddly-shaped cylinder is also attached to his waist belt.

New Star Destroyer interior?

The set for this picture looks similar to the corridors of the Death Star from A New Hope. It's possible that this is the interior for the new Star Destroyers.

Rey standing on a walker

Besides J.J. Abrams rocking some khaki shorts, the biggest attention grabber here is that Rey is standing on top of the leg of a walker.

The walker's leg looks very similar to the legs of an AT-AT, but the walker might be one of those revealed in the Korean TV spot, which have a large gun equipped rather than a distinct head.

It's obvious that Jakku has a strong First Order presence, and maybe it was the Resistance that brought this walker down.
