While Mark Hamill is set to play both The Trickster and Sinestro in LEGO DC Comics Super Heroes: Justice League: Attack of the Legion of Doom (whew!), it seems as though the classic voice role that he's made so iconic is being handed down to another actor who has had his fair share of ha-ha's. Today, The Hollywood Reporter alleged that Zach Galifianakis is "in final talks" for the role of The Joker in LEGO Batman, with Will Arnett reprising his role as Batman and Michael Cera joining in as his sidekick, Robin.
The film focuses on The LEGO Movie's take on the dark knight, meaning that -- like most LEGO titles -- our heroes gearing up for a comedic and enjoyable romp in Gotham City, which might shed some much-needed light on the otherwise dark universe of Batman that fans haven't seen since the days of Batman: The Animated Series.
While there is no official word on other casting or plot details, the film seems like it's going to be another enjoyable installment to LEGO's fourth wall-breaking line of films and video games. Still, fans can rest assured that when it comes to Gotham City, everything isn't awesome all the time, and that's why it needs Batman.
The LEGO Batman Movie is scheduled for release on Feb. 10, 2017.
