Miley Cyrus has recently revealed that she has a close friendship with 65-year-old transgender ambassador, Caitlyn Jenner, but when you think about the goals of Cyrus' Happy Hippie Foundation, this really isn't as surprising as it first seems.
In an interview with Marie Clare Magazine, Cyrus explained how she has been having a lot of deep conversations with Caitlyn about how difficult it can be sometimes to simply be yourself, she explained:
We’ve talked a lot about how you can never make every single person happy. We always laugh about people saying she transitioned to be famous. Which is crazy. Caitlyn has to tell her story, because if she doesn’t, everyone else is going to tell it for her
Although the interview didn't allow for Caitlyn Jenner to give her two cents on Miley, the chances are the appreciation is mutual.
At the amfAR Inspiration Gala in June, Cyrus publicly showed her support for Caitlyn Jenner's public transition by creating custom artwork with the former athlete's Vanity Fair cover.
The sale of Miley's work eventually raised $69,000 for the HIV/AIDS charity, and Cyrus' other charity work is likely to be of interest to Caitlyn Jenner thanks to the singer's aim to support transgender, gay and gender fluid youths and dispel stereotypes about them.
