Whilst we may think that filming a sex scene must be quite a fun way to spend your working day, the reality of it all is in fact very far from that.
And British actor Henry Cavill is the first to admit that it's not easy.
In his interview for the September issue of Men's Health, in which he is promoting his latest movie The Man from UNCLE, in a series of quick-fire questions, the topic turns to sex on screen.
And what Henry had to say about filming steamy scenes will surprise you and might even make you cringe!
When asked whether sex scenes were uncomfortable, he replied:
“You don’t think of sex scenes as showing your bum to the nation. It’s actually acutely uncomfortable being naked in a roomful of people. The very last thing it is is sexy. The actual physicality is very uncomfortable. All you’re doing is smacking your nuts against someone, and nothing is going in.”
Wow, that's one way to put it!
But, despite all the awkwardness, he has admitted to getting aroused one time during an intimate moment on the period drama The Tudors:
“It’s only happened to me once and it was very embarrassing. A girl had to be on top of me, she had spectacular breasts, and I hadn’t rearranged my—stuff into a harmless position. She’s basically rubbing herself all over me and, um, it got a bit hard. I had to apologize profusely afterward. It’s not great when you’re in a professional acting environment and somebody gets a boner, is it? No, not acceptable.”
I bet he's been arranging his "stuff" into a harmless position ever since...
His next movie, sadly lacking in sex scenes, is The Man from U.N.C.L.E and opens on August 14, 2015. Watch the trailer here:
