Introduction

Variants seem to be all the rage in today's comic book industry. I've been following DC religiously since 2011's launch of the new 52, but where at one point we usually just got variants once a year in September (celebrating the New 52's launch) or at the recent slew of 75th anniversaries for characters like Batman and Superman, we now seem to have comic book variant themes once a month, or at least over at DC Comics anyways.

Here's a list of the different themes we've seen since the start of the year:

  • January - Flash variants
  • February - Harley Quinn variants
  • March - Movie Poster theme variants
  • April/May - Chip Kidd theme variants
  • June - The Joker theme variants
  • July - Teen Titans Go! theme variants
  • August - Bombshells theme variants
  • September - Green Lantern theme variants
  • October - Monster theme variants

Some of these I was obviously a bigger fan of than others. I loved the Movie Posters themed month with some classic and/or popular modern films being reinvented with with DC Comics superheroes, here were the best ones (in my opinion) for that month.

I might be partial to Batman, but I just love the way he and his allies/enemies look in these variants and I feel like they really captured the feel of these movies' posters very well.

But no matter what your favorite theme for DC variants was (if you even care about this sort of thing), there's no doubt in my mind that November's upcoming variants theme is the best.

Here's a look at all 25 variants as released to different websites across the web:

Conclusion

So, what did you think of DC's Loony Toons themed variants for the month of November? I'm not typically the type to pick up a variant too often, but I just might have to pick up either Batman #46 or Cyborg #5 since I'm currently collecting both. But we'll see as the time draws nearer. Either way though, these comic book covers are all pretty amazing.

I know I can't wait to see what they do for December; maybe it'll be Christmas themed or maybe they'll get more creative than that!
