The D23 expo is here, and it's already promising very exciting things for the most magical company on earth.
Today the most juicy details coming from Anaheim were about the upcoming Pixar sequels. Posters were revealed for Cars 3, Toy Story 4 and The Incredibles 2.
In addition to this, plot details about the much anticipated Toy Story 4 were revealed. John Lasseter, who rose to prominence after directing the first installment, and is set to direct the fourth, said at the expo on Friday that the fourth film will revolve around a love story between Woody and Bo-Peep!
This should come as no surprise to the multitudes of fans wondering why Jessie and Woody didn't end up together. I'm personally glad Buzz found love, because he's Buzz, and because it leaves Woody to end up with his original love. But this announcement does leave me with several questions.
Isn't she gone?
I don't know quite how it works in the world of toys, but I'm pretty sure this happened in Toy Story 3.
Woody: "We've lost friends along the way... Wheezy... and Etch and..."
Rex: "Bo Peep?"
Woody: "...Yeah. Even - even Bo."
Now... that seems pretty final. But is it?
Think about it... in the world of toys lost doesn't necessarily mean dead... When you normally lose a toy you've just... misplaced it.
Now, obviously these toys don't stay lost because you dropped them under a cupboard (except for Jessie), but the question left is:
