I am a HUGE fan of Attack on Titan (Shingeki no Kyojin in Japanese) series and was nerdgamsing all over the place when I heard that a live action film adaptation was soon to be released...until I actually saw it. For those of you reading who are not familiar with this series, it is a story following the life of a teenage boy named Eren Jaeger, along with adopted sister Mikasa, and long time childhood friend Armin, as they live behind one of 3 100 year old walls to stay safe from the Titans. One day a Colossal Titan (50m class) breaks through the wall and allows smaller Titans in. This starts Eren and Co. journey to joining the Scout Regiment, a section of the military dedicated to reclaiming land from Titans. Thats about all you need without spoiling the fun.

Armin Eren Mikasa L-R

So lets get on with the movie and the anime/manga differences:

1) Wrong Country

The A/M is set in an England-looking country while the movie is set in Japan...go figure. Now I understand that a movie wont be entirely the same as the cartoon its based off of but put in a little effort...please?

2) Wrong Time Period

The original source is more medieval whereas this movie is more modern with mopeds and machinery. This is also evidenced by the fact that there is a FREAKIN BOMB ON A HILL!! THAT THEY PLAY ON AND KICK!!

3) They killed...Mikasa

One of the main characters....AT THE BEGINNING!!!!

Nuff said on that point.

So un conclusion...if you are a fan watch and judge yourself, if not well watch it anyways then watch the anime and tell me what you think.

Now to the movie directors and because its funny:
