With the huge release of NWA's biopic, 'Straight Outta Compton'. We can be sure to look for even more biopics. Which celebrities will they be about though?
8. Run DMC
Even before NWA, Run Dmc was already knocking down huge barriers in the music world. And they also played a huge role in pushing Hip-Hop further into becoming a mainstream genre of music. I'm 100% sure this biopic is gonna hit theaters in the near future. Especially after the huge success of 'Straight Outta Compton'.
Aaliyah already had a small screen ''biopic'' made a few months ago. But it was poorly made and was a failure critically. After the poor release of that project though, sources were saying Aaliyah would be getting a legitimate biopic about her life soon. But even if that was false, I'm sure she'll get a proper big screen adaption in the near future.
6. John Lennon
Often seen as one of the greatest entertainers in rock music. It really sucks he went out the way he did. But it would be no surprise if he got his own movie soon. And I'm sure he will.
5. Whitney Houston
Just like Aaliyah, Whitney Houston got a small screen biopic a few months ago. And while it was received better than the Aaliyah biopic, I still don't feel like it measures up to her legacy. Fortunately there have been talks of making a big screen movie about her life. So there's still hope.
4. Bob Marley
Known around the world as one of the greatest artist of all time, Bob Marley now symbolizes more than just music. So a big screen movie about him is almost inevitable.
3. Kurt Cobain
The Nirvana front man is often said to be ''the voice of a generation''. It's just a shame he couldn't bear the weight of that pressure on his shoulders. Hopefully his biopic does him justice when it finally comes out.
2. Michael Jackson
It would be impossible for Hollywood not to make this biopic soon. As we move farther and farther away from the year of his death, the chances of this movie being made will get better and better. Talks have already been taking place about making this biopic. I just feel sorry for the poor people who are actually gonna try and create a movie out of his life. How hard could it be to make a film about one of the greatest entertainers ever? Very hard.
1. Tupac Shakur
Simply put, this movie is already happening. The project has been having it's ups and downs for some years now, but it's steadily moving forward. Like many other artist on this list, Tupac's story is far from easy to handle. And playing the role of the man himself is gonna be even harder. Tupac has risen above the realms of Hip-Hop itself, and is now a cultural icon. So I hope the people behind his biopic realize this and can capitalize on it nicely.
