I am a major horror movie buff. Here is my fantastic list of the top ten best horror movies ever.

The Conjuring

I was really excited for this movie when I heard that it was coming out due to it being based off a real event, but it was a bit disappointing. Nevertheless, it had great character development and a great storyline. It did have a creep element as well. Also, I will admit that there was a really good twist!

This movie was really good when it comes to storyline and gore factor. Let's just say there's a lawn mower scene......I couldn't watch. I like this movie also because it incorporates "home movies" into it, but not in a cheesy sort of way. These segments actually added a great deal to the quality of the overall film.

The Poltergeist (1982)

I haven't gotten the chance to watch the remake of this movie yet, but I'd say the original was good just as it was. Personally, I didn't find this movie scary, but it was spooky! Apparently, the skeletons in the pool area where real human skeletons, not fake ones. This movie is a legend in horror history so it can't not be mentioned.

It. This movie has caused a simple pronoun to become a very powerful symbol. "It" now stands for terror. Personally, I thought this movie had some great characters and I liked Pennywise's jokes--they were killer. :) It also had an interestingly good message of friendship and anti-bullying.

The Task

This movie is not typically brought up when you look at a top ten list, but I thought it was amazing! This movie starts out alright, then it gets "yeah, we got it," to "Wow! I never saw that coming!" It is definitely a movie that keeps you guessing. It also has its own bit of gore and scare factor.

The Ring

I have watched this movie way too many times. I have even watched entirely in German with no subtitles (I can't speak or read German). You could say I'm a bit of a fan....What I really like about The Ring is its ability to make you get caught up in the story. It also has a bit of a twist at the end. Gore: Yes.

Scream (All of them)

I really liked this entire series. Its like a teen drama with horror and a cop show twist. It always keeps you guessing. You never know who the killer is. I do find it kind of surprising, though, that Sydney never opens her own martial arts studio. She should surely know the necessity of defending oneself. Needless to say, if you haven't seen this series, you must watch it.

Do be warned of swearing.

Drag Me to Hell

To be honest, this movie surprised me. I was actually quite intrigued by it. When it originally came out, many people talked about it, which, of course, caused me to not want to watch it. Eventually I did--which was a good thing. This movie had some turns and it did have a good plot. It even scared me a bit. Let's just say this: an awesomely creepy old lady and a demonic goat.

As Above, So Below

Reality is no longer. Everything you ever thought is no longer. If you are claustrophobic at all, then this movie will scare you. I liked it because it gets you thinking.

Insidious (the whole series)

How can you comment on greatness? I LOVE everything about this series. If you haven't watched it, then do so. You will not regret it.
