Last weekend was Disney’s D23 Expo in Anaheim. Fans of the movies and theme parks flocked to the convention to get any bit of news

was willing to deliver, and oh did they ever deliver.

D23 featured several interesting panels, each of which dropped extremely exciting Disney bombs on the audiences and fans following along all around the world. Whether it was new movie posters, trailers or the exciting announcements of new attractions coming to the theme parks, there was something for everyone to get excited about at D23.

New Pixar Movie Posters

Sure, we knew that these movies were happening already, but it was still exciting to see the posters for The Good Dinosaur, Finding Dory, Toy Story 4, Cars 3, and The Incredibles 2. Knowing the success that Pixar has had with just about every movie they’ve ever made, it’s hard not to be excited about all five of these films. Personally, I’m most excited for The Incredibles sequel, but I can’t wait for the other movies either.

Captain America: Civil War Trailer

One of the biggest and most anticipated reveals was the first trailer for Marvel’s Captain America: Civil War. Disney really locked down on their live action panel and the trailer was successfully kept under wraps outside of the room it was showed in. It’s a safe bet though that the trailer was epic, and Marvel fans around the world are now eagerly awaiting the public release. Civil War is set to be one of the biggest blockbusters of 2016, and it was no surprise that it was out in full force at D23.

Toy Story Land

Have you ever wondered what it’s like to be a toy? Well soon you will be able to experience it at Disney’s Hollywood Studios in Orlando. Two weeks ago, I posted a story about Hollywood Studios regarding what we could expect for the future of the park. Fans of Walt Disney World have been looking to D23 for a long time to answer their questions about the recently diminished park.

Toy Story land was announced during the parks and resorts panel, giving fans something to be excited about for the future of Orlando theme parks. The themed land will feature two new attractions: a family-friendly Slinky Dog coaster and an alien saucer themed ride. No date was announced for the opening of this impressive new attraction.

Star Wars Land

Maybe the biggest splash of the entire convention came at the end of the live action panel, when Star Wars Land was announced. That’s right, Star Wars land! While that’s not the official name, the thought of a land dedicated to Star Wars was enough to send fans into a tizzy. It had been rumored for some time now, but Disney made it official that not only one, but two Disney parks will soon be adding completely immersive sections themed around one of the greatest sci-fi properties ever created.

Disneyland and Hollywood Studios will both be getting this incredible addition in the near future. And as if that news wasn’t enough, it was also announced that there will be two new incredible attractions, including a Millenium Falcon ride, as well as a renovation to the already impressive Star Tours attraction. There will also be a cantina bar, which fans have been hoping to see for years. Like Toy Story Land, there was no date announced for the arrival of Star Ward Land.

There was a lot of great news that came out of D23, and it will be exciting to see how it all plays out in the next few years. One thing's for sure, I'm already looking forward to the next D23!
