What We Do in The Shadows, the hilarious horror-comedy-mockumentary from the country of yours truly, according to co-director Jemaine Clement.
Despite the film appearing to close off all possible narrative ties, Clement confirmed to New Zealand's Stuff.co.nz that a sequel to the vampire spoof is in early planning stages. The plot will focus on Rhys Darby's werewolf character Anton.
What We Do In The Shadows followed the lives of quirky vampires Deacon, Viago, Vladislav and their 8,000-year-old friend Petyr. Co-directors Clement and Waititi gave the film a unique horror spin, and took a well-worn idea and made something new and fresh with it. The festival circuit took note, and the film ended up winning two impressive prizes: Best Feature Film at the Catalonian International Film Festival (SITGES) and the People's Choice Award at the Midnight Madness section of the Toronto International Film Festival.
