When we initially got word that the dashing Chris Hemsworth, who famously plays Thor in the Marvel Cinematic Universe, would be joining the upcoming Ghostbusters movie, reports stated he would be playing the female-driven team's secretary.

Up until this point I assumed that this meant that Hemsworth's character, Kevin, would be the male equivalent to Janine Melnitz (Annie Potts), the only woman officially on the team, who acted as the receptionist for the original Ghostbusters.

While I'm in the minority group that trusts Paul Feig (Bridesmaids, Spy), Ivan Reitman (Ghostbusters, Ghostbusters II), and Amy Pascal's decision-making through production thus far, something about making Thor doing clerical work is the equivalent to putting Baby in the corner. You just don't do it.

Luckily for us, while Kevin might still be playing the bespectacled secretary to Kristen Wiig, Melissa McCarthy, Kate McKinnon, and Leslie Jones, it looks as if he'll be a little more hands-on than Melnitz and will be getting in on some of the ghost-busting action as well!

Thanks to Just Jared we have our first look at Chris Hemsworth in what looks like his very own Ghostbusters gear with a makeshift "KEVIN" name tag, riding a motorcycle:

Say what you will about this movie, but there's no denying that the man is one of a rare few who can pull off a taupe jumpsuit.

Also, it doesn't quite look like a proton pack (or Mjolnir, for that matter) he's carrying in that basket, so I'm curious to see what kind of heat his character is packing!

Even though Chris Hemsworth might be doing more ghost-busting than Janine Melnitz, I'm hoping he'll still get some funny scenes behind a desk before he springs into action:

Ghostbusters will be opening in theaters starting July 22, 2016.
