The Assassin's Creed franchise has turned into an unstoppable beast. It shall not rest until it has conquered every location and time period on the planet, while simultaneously making Ubisoft all the money. ALL THE MONEY! Therefore, seeing as we can't exactly stop it, we'll have to accept its presence. I personally haven't enjoyed one of these games in a long time, but there are certain historical settings that can make any kind of game work!

Now obviously, Ubisoft are moving chronologically through history so these locations might be a long shot. But I'd have gladly seen these Assassin's Creed games take the place of so many of the other instalments. Be sure to let us know which locations you'd like to see the most in the comments below and obviously these are my choices, therefore not really representative of a general consensus.

The Top Locations For After Assassin's Creed Syndicate

Personally, I'm not at all excited about the idea of Victorian London, but maybe that's because [The Order: 1886](tag:2707754) destroyed that setting earlier this year. There's no way Assassins Creed Syndicate can be that disappointing. But if any game was to be released set in these three locations, I would jump for the opportunity to engage with these cultures through this medium.

Assassin's Creed in India

Imagine being able to traverse the beauties of colonial India in an Assassin's Creed game that isn't just limited to the Chronicles trilogy (far too limited). With its fascinating people, beautiful religions and breathtaking scenery, the streets of Mumbai, to the ancient beauty of Jaipur would be so impressive to play through. Ubisoft, to their credit, always do a fantastic job of immersing you in a culture. They study the history of the settings they pick with great detail and painstakingly recreate some of its most famous monuments and sights. Assassin's Creed in India would be so beautiful and I'd love to hear if you think it'd work!

Assassin's Creed in Japan

I have a deep love and fascination with Japan. Some of my favourite filmmakers are Japanese, like Akira Kurosawa and Kenji Mizoguchi, and in the gaming world, you can't really beat the likes of Hideo Kojima and Hidetaka Miyazaki. Their culture is rich, their people are fascinating, and the Age of the Samurai is something that really isn't explored enough in Video Games. I'd love to see Ubisoft devote themselves to an adventure in Japan, but is it likely?

Assassin's Creed in Africa

Africa is very rarely used as a location in video games, and if it, it's generally because some Americans have to go there to take down a target. Africa has a rich and amazing history, and I'd love for them to take anywhere on this continent! Be it near the pyramids of Egypt, the wildlife of Kenya, or the southern beauty of South Africa. With Ubisoft's devotion to detail, I'd love to explore the history of this continent in a future Assassin's Creed game! They just need to start getting better voice actors. Everyone in Unity sounded British.

Here are some other honourable mentions:

  • Brazil
  • China
  • Turkey
  • Persia
  • Ireland (cause I'm from there...even though it'd probably be terrible)
  • The Roman Empire
  • Iraq
  • Germany
  • Czech Republic
  • Taiwan

But what about you guys? Where do you think the [Assassin's Creed](tag:437814) franchise should go after Assassin's Creed Syndicate? Do you want to see any of these locations in future instalments, and does the idea of Victorian London excite you? Let us know in the comments below!

Which of these three locations would you pick?
