The story of KevinDoyle's 501-mile walk across the country to this year's San Diego Comic-Con has been an ongoing saga since the moment he began. Doyle is part of the 501st Legion, a [Star Wars](tag:2395282) costuming group that has taken their love of the classic Stormtrooper armor to the next level by creating positive, charitable efforts as part of their "Bad Guys Doing Good" campaign. Earlier this year, he decided to walk across the country in his armor to raise money and awareness for cancer research.

Doyle's wife and fellow 501st legion member tragically passed away amidst a battle with pancreatic cancer in 2012. In her memory, the dutiful trooper decided to walk across the country, and was making headlines as early as this past March. Originally, Doyle planned to only walk 501 miles in her honor, but now, his efforts have gone the extra mile -- or several miles -- thanks to support from fellow Star Wars fans and 501st members.

One August 15th, the Imperial March made it to the Golden Gate Bridge, when Doyle led a mass of Stormtroopers, Imperial Officers, and Sith Lords across the iconic locale. Check out Doyle and the 501st's Golden Gate Garrison as they make their way across the bridge:
