I would like to talk about a rare gem of a movie that is not your average kind of movie. I mean I like science Fiction, you know. But this Movie called "District 9". Oh my god, how can I go about explaining this movie! This was one of the best well written story I had ever seen. I mean if you never seen it let me give you some reasons to see it.
Reason1. District 9 which was directed by Neill Blomkamp is one reason. Here is a little bit about the director. "Neill Blomkamp (born 17 September 1979) is a South African–Canadian film and advertisement director, writer, producer and animator. Blomkamp employs a documentary-style, hand-held, cinéma vérité technique, blending naturalistic and photo-realistic computer-generated effects. He is best known as the co-writer and director of the critically acclaimed and financially successful science fiction film District 9 and the dystopian science fiction film Elysium, which garnered moderately positive reviews and a good box office return. He is also known for his collaborations with South African actor Sharlto Copley. He is based in Vancouver, British Columbia.
Time named Blomkamp as one of the 100 Most Influential People of 2009. Forbes magazine named him as the 21st most powerful celebrity from Africa." To find more about him I place a link to the director's wikipedia .
Reason2. District 9, Starts off like a documentary of a newly appointed field officer. Who was in the South African region. As the movie continues, there was a huge Mothership planted in the middle of the sky. Then the movie takes a turn unlike never before. The Aliens called the pwas! Where living in the ghetto side of South Africa. Where they was making high end technology. Until a war broke out between the Aliens and human because of the humans was infected and begin transforming unto one of the creatures.
Reason3. District 9 also goes as far to even have one of the old African religion in here as well. With witch doctors and cannibalism. This movie truly hit home. With a lot emotional points. That would have you question yourself, if you was in this situation, how would you handle it? This movie was a good one for me. Hands up, my Baby mom enjoyed this movie so much she was craving to watch the whole Movie. For her to watch something like this, well you get point.
With these 3 powerful reasons, I think everyone that hand not checked it out. Should check it out. I me and my Baby mom most definitely enjoyed this movie to the very end. I would give this movie 12 thumbs up. With storyline and great actors this movie packed a serious punch for entertainment.
