Catwoman is a very...complex creature with a complex history (which is why we all probably love her so much!). As I was sifting through my Catwoman facts, I realized that I could go on forever! Literally...I could have probably written forever. So I decided to focus on my favorite version - Michelle Pfeiffer's Catwoman. Here you go!

-Michelle Pfeiffer was supposed to reprise her role in a Catwoman movie after the success of Batman Returns. The movie was shelved, thrown into a shredder, burned, taped back together (jk) and we were given Halle Barry's Catwoman. Barf, what a tragedy! We could have had another movie with Michelle playing Catwoman and ended up with....that.

-Warner Bros. had to constantly submit new Catwoman posters for bust stop ads because they kept getting stolen. Apparently the ads are worth a lot of money now, so if you see one on e-bay let me know!

-Michelle Pfeiffer went through 60 catsuits while shooting. Word on the street is that they were so tight that each one had to be sewn onto her body then cut off when she was ready to change.

-During the scene where Catwoman eats the Penguin's bird Michelle Pfeiffer actually put the live bird in her mouth....talk about dedication!

-Jodie Foster, Sigourney Weaver, Jennifer Jason Leigh, Ellen Barkin, Bridget Fonda, Madonna and even Kim Basinger were considered for the Catwoman role. Not sure how that would have worked with Vicky Vale as Catwoman, but alright. Could you imagine Sigourney as Catwoman!?

-Anette Bening was officially cast as Catwoman but was replaced by Michelle Pfeiffer when she because pregnant.

-When Selina is seated at her desk in Shreck's office, the lamp casts a shadow through her eyeglass frames, creating an outline of the pointed "cat's eye" mask that was worn by Catwoman in the original DC comic series and had also been featured as part of the costumes donned by Lee Meriwether and Eartha Kitt in Batman: The Movie (1966) and Batman (1966), respectively.

There you have it! I hope you enjoyed my little hissssstory lesson.
