Wolverine: Origins was not the most popular Marvel movie. Sure, it didn't get a Catwoman-level of ridicule - Hugh Jackman didn't have to graciously accept any Razzies, anyhow - but there was definitely a wave of disgruntlement from fans.
I actually really enjoyed the movie, but I'm such a sucker for the X-Men that you could probably draw some X-stick-men on an old candy wrapper and I'd think it was awesome... Whatever your views on Wolverine: Origins, there was definitely one aspect of the movie that nearly everyone enjoyed...
That's right - the epic showdown(s) between Wolverine and Sabretooth - brought some air-punching action to the movie. Despite Sabretooth appearing in the 2000 X-Men movie (played by stunt extraordinaire Tyler Mane) most people feel that Liev Schreiber brought the most definitive Sabretooth yet to Wolverine: Origins.
If you're in the Liev Schreiber camp of Sabretooth fans, here's some news that just might make you lick your fangs eagerly: he's teased a return. Check out this Twitter exchange between Hugh Jackman and Liev Schreiber.
Now, I'm not getting my hopes up over what could just be a joke between two actor buds who've worked together before, but it does raise some interesting thoughts. What does Sabretooth as a character have to bring to future Wolverine movies... and could there be a place for him amongst the other mutants in future X-Men films?
I guess we'll have to wait and see. What do you guys think?
