Described as the world's largest Fantasy and Sci-Fi convention, Dragon Con has occurred annually in Atlanta since 1987. Attendance has grown steadily since that time, and this year is expected to reach 65,000, a record breaking number.

There will be more than 400 guest authors, execs, actors, gamers, and internet personalities from throughout the world attending this year over the Labor Day weekend (September 4-7). The Walk of Fame event will present celebrities from every genre, and provide opportunities for photo ops and autographs. One of the biggest draws of Dragon Con, though, is the Cosplay.

Dragon Con is known for attendees going all out with the Cosplay - so much so that there is an annual parade in downtown Atlanta to show them all off. This year's parade has been extended to accommodate the mass of spectators who show up year after year.

"One of the 17 Geek Conventions You Must Attend Before You Die," Dragon Con is spread out among multiple hotels and venues. In addition to the annual parade, a burlesque show, an official pub crawl, and a special event at the Georgia Aquarium will be among the list of things to do.

New celebrity guests are added every day, and updates on those appearing and additional information on individual events within the four-day Con can be found at DragonCon.org. Information on tickets and accommodations can also be found on the website, but hurry - It's only two weeks away!

If you are not able to attend, Moviepilot has you covered! I will be posting live from the Con, and welcome any questions!
