(Warning - very mild visual SPOILERS for Captain America: Civil War lie below - but to be honest, if you've already the seen the post-credits scene attached to Ant-Man, you're probably pretty much safe...)

Now, Captain America: Civil War may still be the best part of a year away from hitting the big screen, but that doesn't mean we're going to have to wait anywhere near that long for Civil War-themed, meme-based hilarity to hit our computer screens.

After all, if there's one thing that the internet is fantastic at, it's crowd-sourcing humorous Photoshopped images. In this particular instance:

The Whole Thing is Based On This Set Pic

In which The Winter Soldier (Sebastian Stan) and The Falcon (Anthony Mackie) appear to be running away from, or towards, something. Which, in and of itself, is an intriguing glimpse into what could well be a key scene from the movie.

In the hands of the internet, though, it was so, so much more.

Y'see, once intrepid Tumblr-er meficrow posted this transparent cropped version of the duo...

...things got a little weird(ly awesome).

Whether that was through meficrow's own creations, including...

Jurassic Park Jogging

Raiders of the Lost Ark Racing

Or, of course, "Run, Forrest, Running"

Two Times Over, in Fact

...or through the awesome efforts of others, including:

Sound of Music Scampering

lancepatate's...

Pirates of the Caribbean (Out)Pacing

or at-uno's trio, including...

Ghostbusters Galloping

Mad Max: Fury Road Flying

And, of course...

A Whole Bunch of Flash Dudes Showing Off How Fast They Are

Possibly the most deeply meta mashup meme of all, though?

sherlockspeare's...

Most Madcap Meme Mashup of Many

Nicely played internet. Nicely played...

What do you reckon, though?
