WARNING: This article contains a massive, MASSIVE spoiler. It's just a rumor and unconfirmed, but if you don't want a major plot point spoiled for you, DON'T READ.
The last two weeks have seen a ton of rumors and speculation flying around regarding Tom Holland's Spider-Man role in [Captain America: Civil War](tag:994409). Everything from props for his bedroom to that he's on set in Berlin to the fact he might have a bigger role in the movie than we realize.
But the most intriguing rumor (from BMD) was that Spider-Man will have an epic fight scene in Civil War, one that will be unlike anything we've seen yet on screen.
And now, Heroic Hollywood is reporting that their sources in Berlin have confirmed who it is that Spidey throws down with.
Turn back now if you don't want it spoiled.
Spider-Man fights Captain America.
Earlier this week, I speculated that with Spider-Man being in "Romania" (the Berlin set) with the rest of Cap and his team that by that point in the movie, he must have defected from Iron Man's pro-registration side and joined Captain America's anti-registration rebellion. I considered including the counter-argument that he may be doing Tony's dirty work and spying on Cap, but opted not to as a.) why would Tony send a 15-year-old kid to do it? and b.) why would he send a 15-year-old kid with no espionage skills when he has Black Widow (or Hawkeye) supposedly on his side?
If this rumor proves to be true, then it turns out my speculations may be wrong.
But who knows? As with all highly speculative and unconfirmed rumors, it's worth taking this with a grain of salt. Still, it's fun to think about for now. Let the fan theorizing begin!
Captain America: Civil War hits theaters on May 6, 2016.
