Daredevil Toxic Waste Tie In

Netflix's Daredevil is a must watch for any Marvel fan. Unfortunately there are few connections made between this show and its big screen counterparts. Apart from a couple of Easter Eggs mentioning the Avengers and the attack on New York City, there isn't much to go off of how Daredevil fits within the MCU. One idea, however, could be lurking within the toxic chemicals from the car accident which blinded young Matt Murdock and gave him is heightened senses.

Unfortunately, not much is said about what these chemicals are or where they came from. Or even what they're doing in New York. All we know is that you should avoid getting this stuff in yours eyes. Could a reason for a truck load of chemicals like this driving through New York be part of a Hydra scheme? After all at this point nobody knows they are hiding within the ranks of S.H.I.E.L.D. and could be doing any number of things. Or maybe Roxxon is up to no good again. We know Roxxon has been causing trouble in the MCU as far back as the 1950's (as you can tell from watching Agent Carter). This company was also mentioned in the Daredevil show itself and has made quick appearences in other Marvel movies (such as Ironman) so we know they are still active.

Luckily though, Daredevil is not the only time when toxic chemicals has made an appearance. If you have seen Avengers Age of Ultron a couple of times, you may have noticed a large batch of toxic waste sitting in Ulysses Klaue's facility were he stores his vibranium. The quick glimpse of these toxic waste barrels flys by so fast you could miss it if you blinked. However, it could hold a possibility for a larger connection between Daredevil and the rest of the MCU.

This may seem like a coincidence, but why else would this scene have these very noticeable barrels in it that carry a close resemblance to the barrels in Daredevil which have nothing to do with the scene or anything else in the movie. There is a large possibility that the toxic waste in the barrels found in New York could be the same toxic waste in the barrels found in Ulysses Klaue's vibranium facility. Another speculation could also be that someone in New York around the time Matt Murdock was a kid had been messing around with vibranium. This could be anyone from Howard Stark, Hank Pym, U.S. Government, S.H.I.E.L.D., Hydra, Roxxon, AIM or someone else that has yet to be mentioned. It will be interesting to see what else Marvel may revealed in future shows and movies that could yet uncover this secret.

Jessica Jones Tie In?

Netflix's Jessica Jones

Though we don't have to wait much longer for Jessica Jones to appears on Netflix, there's never a bad time to do some speculating. You may already know that Jessica Jones gets her powers by getting doused with toxic chemicals in a similar fashion as Daredevil. Considering that Jessica Jones may not be too far off from Matt Murdock's age in the MCU, it could be very possible that Matt and Jessica were actually in the same car accident that you see in episode 1 of Daredevil. If this is the case, you may be seeing a couple similar scenes once Jessica Jones hits Netflix later this year.
