Diggle has been an honorable friend and team member of team Arrow. He was the first member Oliver actually invited into team Arrow and ever since then he has shown nothing but loyalty.

At the end of season 3 of Arrow, we saw Oliver leaving his crusade in the hands of Team Arrow and it's most likely that Diggle will be leading the team while Oliver drives off into the sunset with Felicity. But the question has been asked many times, when will Diggle be getting a costume?

At the time theories were flying around that Diggle could potentially be John Stewart. Unfortunately, Executive producer Marc Guggenheim brought us back into reality by telling MTV that the chances are slim to none. This is what he had to say:

It’s funny, I’ve spoken to David quite a bit about this issue, I know it keeps coming up. I spoke to [writer] Geoff Johns at DC after that interview went viral. Basically, John Diggle is now a character in the comics… John Diggle is John Diggle. We’re not being coy and saying John Diggle is someone else, i.e. John Stewart. DC has other plans for that character. We love David, and we love the character of John Diggle that he’s created. We have really cool plans for him…

But he did say that they have cool plans for him and at the time we didn't know what he meant, but at Comic Con this year, the concept art for Diggles costume was shown.

If you missed it, you can see it for yourself down below!

"Diggle will get a new helmet," Ramsey confirmed.

While it is just a simple helmet, it was compared to an iconic character in the comic, The Guardian. But will he be called The Guardian? During last week’s Television Critics Association Press Tour, producer Wendy Mericle did hint Diggle will be going into a superhero direction and this what she had to say:

“I can’t tell you what the code name is, but he’s gonna have a fun, cool code name,” Mericle told Collider. “He’ll start to embrace a little bit more of that dual identity conundrum that Oliver has been grappling with for three years now.”

So looks Diggle will be getting something like a costume that comes with a code name and I have my fingers crossed that it looks like it's going to be, The Guardian! What do you think his code name will be? Let me know in the comment section below!
