I've always been intrigued about horror movies, I like psychological horror, that kind that frightens you just by sound, dark visuals and intense drama, no need for blood.

Like the Paranormal Activity movies, (just the first and the second one) they are good and can offer you a visceral palette of sounds that scares you, no knifes, no blood, no gore, etc

I think, for me that's the pure horror, not the actual movies, but that kind of horror.

As I got deep into the horror genre, I've explored some other movies, like, Aliens franchise, A Nightmare on Elm Street, The Ring, and others, and i found that they are very similar.

Then, I've explored in games, like Resident Evil, Slender man, Amnesia, Outlast, Alone in The Dark, Dead Space and finally, Alien Isolation, the true definitive horror game for me.

Beware!
Beware!

It's fantastic the work of sound, the visuals and the mere details you can absorb by listening.

That's fear through sound, knowing that there's something but we don't know what it is or where it is coming from, is terrifying, the fear of the unknown.

That's the point, we fear the unknown, and I decided to write a pitch of my initial work in the horror genre, and I need your help to decide which version is better, they are very similar, but with subtle changes.

Version A

The story tells us that a mother and her 9 year-old daughter who is deaf and live together in a small town.

One day, they go shopping in a not too far mall, and as soon as they arrive home, her mother notices something different. Their house was assaulted.

The panic starts when they see something watching them...every time.

(I see this a better option, a claustrophobic game between the protagonist and the antagonist, which we don't know what's he)

A farm house, abandoned!
A farm house, abandoned!

Version B

The story tells us that a mother and her 9 year-old daughter who is deaf and live together in a small town.

One day, they go shopping in a not too far mall, and as soon as they arrive home, they notice their house half destroyed, desperate and frightened, they search help in an abandoned town.

(A chase game, lots of running, scares and big exterior sounds that makes you quiet)

Sort of!
Sort of!

That's my initial thoughts of my project and I need your opinion, version A is more of a scary strike, and version B is a tough challenge but very scary too.

I'll give you an example.

Also I need you to give me some scary movies that suits what I told you, psychological/claustrophobic horror.

Thank you :)

(PS: That Alien Isolation gameplay was recorded by me, and that Video 'Knock Knock' i made, was specifically done for this article, sorry the bad quality!)
