When it was first announced last year, Nintendo's Pokken Tournament became an instant hit amongst fans of the franchise. Crisp graphics combined with classic fighting game engines and what is arguably one of the most popular cross-platform franchises of all time to create an all-new Pokemon fighting game for the next generation. The wait for what might be the best Pokemon VS game since the Stadium series impatiently began, especially outside of Japan, where it can be found in arcades.
Today, Nintendo gave it's international fans a better idea of when to expect the game, announcing that it's expected to hit Wii U consoles in Spring of 2016.
The lineup of fighters right now is a big one, with some of the most powerful and iconic Pokemon rounding out the roster: Lucario, Machamp, Suicune, Gardevoir, Pikachu, Gengar, Weavile, Charizard, and Blaziken. During the announcement, Nintendo revealed the latest addition to that roster, Pikachu Libre, a costume variation on Pikachu that became popular in Pokemon Omega Ruby and Alpha Sapphire.
