The 90's, the decade for animated superhero shows. With Batman: The Animated Series, Spider-man: The Animated Series, X-Men: The Animated Series, and many more, no other decade has pumped out as many comic-based animated series as the 90's did. But there was one superhero series that almost made the air, but sadly didn't. That show was Captain America: The Animated Series.

John Semper Jr, Head Writer and Producer of Spider-man: The Animated Series, put some light on the canceled animated show's one minute promo that was sadly never set to air.

"Here's a promo for a Captain America animated series, produced by Saban, that would have premiered around the time that Spider-man: The Animated Series was on the air," Semper Jr. wrote. "Unfortunately, due to Marvel's shaky financial and "political" situation, it was never made. Would you have watched it? (And no, I was not involved with making this.)"

The animated series would have taken place in the 1940's. The promo shows Steve Roger's transformation into Captain America, with his best buds (the Howling Commandos). It also illustrates his foe, Red Skull, and his Hydra army. But, I don't want to give to much away, so watch it for yourself.

Captain America: Civil War will be premiering May 6, 2016.

Would you have watched Captain America: The Animated Series?
