The fall TV season is nearly here, and one of the additions to the superhero roster this fall is the new CBS series: Supergirl.

The show stars Melissa Benoist as Kara Zor-El, aka Kara Danvers, as she decides to embrace her Kryptonian powers and become a superhero in her own right. Fans are excited to see another classic DC character coming to the small screen, and hopes are high that this will become another smash-hit comic book adaptation.

We've still got a couple of months to go before the series airs, but in the meantime, here's a roundup of some of the best body art adorning long-time fans of the character. No prizes for guessing that these Supergirl aficionados will be first to tune in to the new series!

Simply Beautiful

These gorgeous pieces are very straightforward representations of Superman's famous cousin. They just go to show that you don't need a quirky twist on a character or concept to make them into an incredible tattoo.

A Sexy New Twist On A Favorite Character

Of course, if you are in the mood for something a little bit different, there are plenty of ways to put a super spin on Kara Zor-El. Check out these adorably cartoonish pin-up variants on the classic character art.

And Now For Something Completely Different

Then there are the pieces that are completely unique. Whether it's a mash up between DC characters (Super Harley!), a simple line tribute to another artist, or this amazing punching fist (which looks almost like body paint rather than a tattoo, but still deserves inclusion for being a great idea).

As always, I have tried to credit artists where I can, but if any of these are incorrect (or if you know the artist where I've been unable to identify them!) please comment and let me know so I can add it in.

Supergirl comes to CBS October 26th
