Majority of films feature a romantic plot or subplot. Despite the authenticity portrayed by the actors and actresses, more often than not they are friends at most off screen. But what about the couples that transitioned from character romance to actor romance? Some people think (and may not be wrong) that movie stars create relationships off screen simply to promote their new film (this is supported through the many extremely short lived relationships; three months after the movie comes out, the couple splits. This may be, however, not a promotional technique but an emotional confusion; perhaps the actors got too into their characters and later realized their S.O. is nothing like the person they were in love with in the film).

On the other hand, there are some genuine relationships formed through film production. People may not have had a chance to get to know each other until a film production. And while they are portraying couples on screen, their friendship and eventual romance slowly blooms behind the scenes (literally).

Here are 5 couples who have discovered long lasting relationships after portraying couples on screen:

Brad Pitt and Angelina Jolie
