A quick bit of news for anyone who missed it over the weekend: Jeremy Renner confirmed once and for all that he is definitely on Steve Rogers' side in the upcoming [Captain America: Civil War](tag:994409).

While at Wizard World Chicago over the weekend, Renner was asked about that all-but-confirmed rumor about the team breakdowns in Civil War, and the actor confirmed in a roundabout way he was on Cap's side:

I don't know; they wrote me in that side, it made sense to me.

With Hawkeye being Team Cap and Black Widow being Team Iron Man, it's already shaping up to pit best friend against best friend. If fans were worried the stakes wouldn't be high enough and the emotional complexity there, they need not fear.

Still, it raises the question: After the destruction wrought by the superhero civil war, will they repair their fractured relationships enough to go into battle together willingly during [The Avengers: Infinity War](tag:738027)? Or will a portion of that movie address the superheroes trying to make amends to one another?

Captain America: Civil War is in theaters on May 6, 2016.
