It's official! Move over, Queen Bey, Kim Kardashian is the new leader in Instagram followers. So how many millions upon millions does it take to become the most popular person on the social media platform? The numbers might shock you.

Tech Insider reports Kim Kardashian West beat Beyoncé last night after reaching an astounding 44,005,604, just narrowly edging head of Beyoncé's 43,935,648.

It feels like just yesterday Kim was celebrating reaching the 42 million follower milestone by posting this picture:

I'd be lying if I said I don't follow Kim, even if it's mainly for adorable pictures of North West.

According to GossipCop, the rest of the top ten includes a large amount of members from the Kardshian-Jenner family tree. Check out their rankings below:

1. Kim Kardashian — 44,005,604

2. Beyoncé — 43,935,648

3. Taylor Swift — 43,533,226

4. Selena Gomez — 41,843,095

5. Ariana Grande — 41,696,873

6. Justin Bieber — 36,994,254

7. Kendall Jenner — 35,388,483

8. Kylie Jenner — 33,703,166

9. Nicki Minaj — 32,278,123

10. Khloé Kardashian — 30,522,261

As I sit here with my comfortable 576 followers, which tends to fluctuate +/- 5 on a weekly basis, I doubt I'll be making it into this top ten Instagram follower list anytime soon. Oh well!
