Hollywood has been under serious fire when it comes to employing women as crew members, giving female characters speaking roles, and adding more than one woman to several cast line-ups for the past year. It's a breath of fresh air in many ways, and is now being recognized by one of the most talked-about films of the coming year: [Ghostbusters (2016)](tag:32733).

In a recent tweet to talk show host Ellen DeGeneres, who recently launched a new line of clothes for all sorts of girls, actress (and fellow fashion designer) Melissa McCarthy showed Ellen exactly what Girl Power means to the production: many, many women, working with their teams to make a film.

Now that's a lot of girl power! While the production team isn't all-female, it's great to see the industry -- or, at least, this film -- taking a stand and opening their doors to a more diverse set of creative minds.

Ghostbusters premieres on July 15th, 2016.
