This is my personal opinion on the Harry Potter franchise. Ranked from worst to best.

8.) Harry Potter and the Chamber of Secrets

This was by no means a bad film. It just doesn't quite have the same feel as the other installments. It has slower pacing and less exiting action sequences. Even the Basilisk was boring at some points. Is was my least favourite portrayal of Voldemort. And finally even Dobby almost felt like a minor Jar Jar Binks at points.

7.) Harry Potter and the Philosopher's Stone

This film began the highest grossing franchise of all time. It was light hearted and fun, in my opinion too fun. Don't get me wrong I love this film but I don't think it's as good as the rest of the series.

6.) Harry Potter and the Goblet of Fire

This was hard for me. Everyone loves this film but I've always had a problem with watching it. I don't know whether it was the Yule ball or the lame argument between Harry and Ron. But one thing's for sure the triwizard tournament was epic. And the hIghlight of the film was the finale, a heart wrenching death and a first proper showdown between Harry and Voldemort. This wasn't a bad film it just didn't feel as good as the others.

5.) Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows Part 1

This the point on the list in which the films make a vast improvement. This film felt like set up rather than its own movie. They could have easily made the final instalment into one film, but then it wouldn't be as epic. This film was too slow for me and when the pace picked up it was great, but before too long it was slow again. The thing that it did best was kill off major characters and make us cry but not ultimately distract from the imminent threat.

4.) Harry Potter and the Order Of the Phoenix

This is a great film. It perfectly introduces us to the corrupt ministry and the villain we all love to hate, Dolores Umbridge, while also showing us one of the most popular heroes, Luna Lovegood. The finale alone was enough to rank it highly on this list. I absolutely love this film but it isn't as good as the top three.

3.) Harry Potter and the Half Blood Prince

This film has the perfect tone, unlike the others this is far from light hearted. It gives us more information and really fleshes out Severus and Voldemort. The dark tone is held up even without bad things happening, even in the positive scenes there was an early tone. From the start I knew that this was nearing the end but I didn't think it would go out with such a bang. The twist ending worked in this flicks' favour. From the death of Dumbledore to the burning of the Burrow. This was the perfect beginning of the end for my favourite cinematic trio.

2.) Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows Part 2

This was great. The best possible ending for the greatest franchise (in my opinion) of all time. It has been set up since Goblet of Fire and oh my did it deliver. It surpassed my expectations and masterfully killed off Voldemort. It turned wimps into heroes and killed of the most hated of women (Bellatrix Lestrange). But it also really tugged some heartstrings with some awful casualties. The Second Wizarding War took the lives of Remus, Nymphadora, Fred Weasley..... Just to name a few. It was utterly brilliant.

1.) Harry Potter and the Prisoner of Azkaban

This was the greatest film in the franchise and if not all time. It perfectly introduced one of my favourite characters, gave depth to the Potter family's death and had my favourite scene of all time..... The Werewolf. It had mystery, despair and absolutely perfect action. This is the perfect film and a wonderful transition from lighthearted family fun to a dangerous dark new tone. I absolutely love it.

Those were my thoughts on the greatest franchise of all time, if you disagree feel free to tell me what you think in the comments. Thankyou for reading.
