In the West, when you create an open world adventure that allows you to drive a car, it's almost expected that you include radio stations for us to listen to. The Grand Theft Auto franchise is obviously the crowning achievement in this regard, but the idea didn't seem to occur to Square Enix when they were asked about the idea at Gamescom earlier this month.

Famitsu had a meeting with staff working on Final Fantasy 15 and seeing as we'll be able to drive around with our companions in our fancy new car, they wondered whether we'd be able to pick the music. Yoko Shimomura stated that "I hope I could, since I love listening to music while I'm driving!" Who doesn't? Therefore, it seems like the question may have sparked a new feature for the release date of Final Fantasy 15.

What Music Would You Want for Our Car in Final Fantasy 15?

"Music from Final Fantasy could be possible [to listen to on the car's radio], since Square Enix has the copyright. Other music would require some meetings, but I'll bring this back home." - Hajime Tabata

It's interesting to see that the idea was almost something that wasn't considered before for Tabata and Shimomura. Music from previous Final Fantasy games sounds like a great idea, but seeing as Final Fantasy 15 has a great deal of Western influences, I wonder whether we could see pop songs in there too! Imagine having a Final Fantasy game where we could listen to licensed music from both the West and East. Bring on that crazy Japanese pop!

Final Fantasy is obviously a very Japanese series. However, they realise that this franchise has massive appeal throughout the world. After all, they chose to announce the Final Fantasy 7 Remake at E3 earlier this year. Therefore, would it be possible to see Western songs make their way into the mix? I'd be totally happy with endless stations of Eastern music, it would clearly suit the game (especially seeing as I'll be playing the whole thing in Japanese). But Square Enix may attempt to reach an international audience with this feature and include more familiar music to ourselves. What would you want?

What Do You Want From the Release Date of Final Fantasy 15?

Radio stations and music in your car are pretty small additions in the grand scheme of things, that we may want for Final Fantasy 15. But if we're to be spending long periods of time inside this car it would really help make things run a little smoother. But what kind of music would you want for release date?
